From Hobby to Business: My Journey to Flower Preservation

Writer: Eli CicosEli Cicos

I wanted to introduce myself here! As my business grows, I recently decided to dedicate myself to it full-time, and I even had some nice pictures taken by my friend @melissa.vargas.photo šŸ˜

Just wanted to say hi to you all once again, most of you know me from the Sunday farmers markets or other local events. I'm originally from Romania, moved to Reno a few years back, worked full-time in marketing, and Iā€™m currently doing my BA in business management. My goal is to become a teacher one day (leaving this here as a little reminder to myself).

This whole business actually started as a hobby, just something to pass the time while I was interviewing for jobs. But one day, I realized I had a bunch of jewelry Iā€™d made and didnā€™t know what to do with, so after giving some to family and friends, I signed up for the Riverside farmers market. And thatā€™s how it all began.

While it might look like this has turned into a big business, itā€™s honestly still just me šŸ˜… Iā€™m behind everything online, designing my website, running my Facebook ads, and handling all the little details myself while making product, pressing and designing wedding bouquets.

If youā€™ve messaged or reached out on Instagram, itā€™s me behind the screen, figuring things out and doing my best to keep up! This journey from hobby to business has been unexpected but amazing, and it wouldnā€™t have been possible without everyoneā€™s support, whether you stopped by my booth, shared a kind word, or found a bit of joy in what I create.

Thank you all for being part of this journey, for letting me share a piece of my Romanian roots, and for being there as I try to turn what I love into a livelihood. šŸ’•
