Workshop Schedule and How It Works April 23 – Flower Pressing Workshop In this class, you will learn how to properly press flowers using traditional techniques that help preserve color, shape, and texture. This session focuses entirely on preparing and pressing your flowers so they can dry properly. Each participant will receive a flower presser to use during class and take home to continue pressing flowers on their own. What to Bring Please bring a small selection of fresh flowers that are suitable for general pressing techniques. Ideal examples include • Roses • Carnations • Baby’s breath • Alstroemeria • Small greenery such as eucalyptus, ferns, or ruscus Limit flowers to a few blooms, about two to three roses plus greenery. Tropical flowers, full bouquets, or very thick blooms are not suitable for this class. April 29 – 8x8 Floating Frame Workshop In this follow up class, we will work with fully pressed and dried flowers to create an 8x8 floating frame design. You will learn how to reconstruct flowers such as roses, build a balanced composition, and turn your pressed flowers into a finished piece of art. Important: The April 29 class is designed for students who have already taken a flower pressing class with me and have flowers that are fully pressed and dried. If you do not have your own pressed flowers, you are still welcome to join. I will have extra dried flowers available for everyone to use.
